My Top Shows
I haven’t updated here for about a week. Why? I had so many shows that I had to watch because they were just taking up space on my PVR.
It’s crazy though. After watching about 30 hours of shows these last few days, I feel pretty confident of which ones will be successful and I’ll be watching.
Off the top of my head, these shows are on my list of watching.
- Prison Break
- Heroes
- Journeyman
- K-Ville
- America’s Next Top Model
- Cane
- Blood Ties
- CSI: Las Vegas
- Survivor: China
- Grey’s Anatomy
- Private Practice
- Gossip Girls
- Ghost Whisperer
- Moonlight
- Desperate Housewives
- Beauty and the Geek
I think that’s it. I may have left off a few that I watch but I can’t remember what they are without looking at the schedule I have on my PVR.
The shows I have stopped watching are:
- Chuck - it’s seems too corny
- ER - I haven’t watched a single episode. It just bores me right now
And of course I record and watch talk shows such as:
- Montel Williams
- Oprah
- Dr. Phil
- Tyra Banks
Do you watch Moonlight?
When I first watched the season premiere of “Moonlight‘ a couple of weeks ago, I thought this show was too similar to a show in Canada called “Blood Ties“. They both deal with vampires and private investigators. Plus, even the characters kind of looked the same. Nothing wrong with that but I initially thought it was way too similar.
After watching a few more episodes these past few weeks, Moonlight is a show of it’s own. It’s actually quite entertaining especially if you love vampire related television shows. Moonlight focuses more on the vampire culture and gives you an insight on how they live. Blood Ties focuses more on investigating paranormal cases which is also great!
If you like paranormal related tv shows, then these two are ones you must watch. Check your local tv listings to see when they air.
Tv series Cane is awesome!
Have any of you watched the new tv series called Cane? It stars Jimmy Smits who is an amazing actor! If you haven’t watched a single episode, then read the plot as described from Wikipedia.
“Starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Jimmy Smits, this epic drama chronicles the external rivalries and internal power struggles of a large Cuban-American family running an immensely successful rum and sugar business in South Florida.
When the family patriarch, Pancho, is offered a lucrative but questionable deal by his bitter adversaries, the Samuels, to purchase thousands of acres of sugar fields, he’s faced with a tough choice: Should he cash out of the sugar business and focus solely on rum, which would please his impulsive biological son, Frank? Or should he protect the family legacy that he built from the ground up by not selling and side with his adopted son, Alex, who mistrusts the Samuels and still sees value in sugar?
Alex’s and Frank’s approaches to business are as different as their approaches to life. While Frank loses focus chasing women, Alex is deeply in love with his beautiful wife, Isabel, who is also Pancho’s daughter. Married when she was just 17-years old, Isabel balances Alex by choosing not to involve herself in the business, focusing instead on their three children, who are determined to forge their own paths outside the family.
Will family allegiance come first or will their secrets and acrimonious conflicts over love, lust and control of the family fortune be their downfall?”

This show is on my top list of shows to watch this season. It really is great!! If you liked the Sopranos, I guarantee that you’ll like this show too. It’s slightly different but still makes you wanting to see more.
You can catch “Cane” on CBS. It airs on Tuesday nights at 10pm et/pt.
Addicted to Gossip Girls
Wow, is all I can say about this new show. I missed the first episode but was able to watch it on Sunday. After that I just had to program my satellite to record episode two on Tuesday. Of course I already watched it and it’s an amazing show.
No seriously….it really is THAT GOOD! I think it may even be better than The O.C. I’m looking forward to watching the upcoming episodes. Did any of you watch it? What do you think?
Btw, if you’re looking for episode recaps or missed an episode, you can find the video links to youtube on Gossip Girl Chat.
New Tv Shows On Tonight + Heroes Returns!!
There’s two new tv series premiering tonight - Journeyman and Chuck.
Journeyman: This is NBC’s description of the show.
Dan Vasser thought he had it all: a loving wife, a great son and a steady job. But life suddenly throws him a curve ball. Dan finds himself traveling into the past with a purpose — impacting people’s lives for the better — and sometimes the worse. While doing so, Dan reconnects with Livia Beale, his ex-fiancée, whom he lost in a mysterious plane crash. Now armed with the knowledge of the present, will he be able to save her? What would that mean to his own future? And how would it change a man who thought he had it all?
Sounds interesting enough which is why I’ll be checking it out tonight at 10/9c after Heroes on NBC.
Chuck: This is NBC’s description of the show.
Chuck Bartowski — a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government’s most
vital secret agent. When Chuck opens an e-mail subliminally encoded with government secrets, he unwittingly downloads an entire server of sensitive data into his brain. Now, the fate of the world lies in the unlikely hands of a guy who works at a Buy More Electronics store. Instead of fighting computer viruses, he must now confront assassins and international terrorists.
Now this show really seems promising which is why I am totally checking it out tonight. It premieres at 8/7c on NBC. You can also catch the encore presentation on Saturday, Sept. 29, 9/8c.
To top off the end of this post, this is just a friendly reminder that NBC’s hit tv show Heroes is returning tonight at 9/8c. Woot!!!

So don’t forget all these amazing shows are on tonight. You’ll probably need two television sets running so you can record them unless you have a system that allows you to record more than one show. *lucky for me* Have a great night!!
